The Coláiste Cholmcille girls’ team from Ballyshannon have once again booked their place in an Ulster Cup Final, continuing an impressive run of form in this year’s competition.

Their journey to the final has been far from easy, with tough encounters in both the quarter-final and semi-final stages against strong opposition from Loreto College Coleraine and Breifne College Cavan. With each match, Coláiste Cholmcille have steadily built momentum, improving performance by performance, and they now hope to deliver their best display yet when it matters most.

After suffering a heartbreaking defeat to Coláiste na Carraige in last year’s final, the Ballyshannon side are more determined than ever to put things right this time around. Standing between them and Ulster glory is a formidable Inver College Carrickmacross team from Monaghan, a side they know well after meeting them in a thrilling semi-final clash last year.

This year’s final promises to be a closely contested affair, with both teams evenly matched. While each side has lost some players since last season, strong underage success has ensured that new talent has stepped up to strengthen both panels.

Reaching another Ulster final is a fantastic achievement in itself, but the Coláiste Cholmcille girls are fully focused on avoiding the disappointment of last year. Under the guidance of Mr Kenny and Mrs Coleman, the management team has full confidence in their squad and believes that the experience gained from last season will give the girls the edge needed to bring the trophy back to Ballyshannon.

The Ulster Cup Final will take place on Thursday, January 8th, in St Patrick’s GAC in Donagh, County Fermanagh, with a throw-in at 11:30am. The school community is encouraged to come out in force to support the girls as they proudly represent their school on the Ulster stage.

Coláiste Cholmcille panel: Erin Gallagher, Émer McDevitt, Zakia Shyabo, Jessica O'Mahoney, Emma Gilmartin, Katie McGowan, Mairead Murphy, Cadhlá Gillespie, Emily McNamee, Aoife Travers, Ciara Larkin, Andrea Moore, Rachel Gillespie, Katie McMahon, Grace McNelis Lee, Rebecca Downey, Niamh Duffy, Áine Neilan, Éabha Rogers, Evie McGrath, Hannah Downey, Ellen Monaghan, Faye Gillespie, Aodhbha O'Donnell, Laoise Foy, Niamh McGrath, Aoife Huges, Caela Monaghan, Caithlin McGuinness, Rihanna Reynolds.
