Donegal's Dr McKenna Cup opener against Derry postponed due to safey concerns

Ulster GAA have decided to call off today's Dr McKenna Cup round one clash between Donegal and Derry in the interests of the safety of players, officials and patrons.

The side managed by Jim McGuinness was due to take on that of Ciarán Meenagh at 1:30pm at O'Donnell Park in Letterkenny. But after heavy overnight snow in the north-west and unsafe conditions on the road network, this afternoon’s game was called off.

In Section C of the competition, Derry will play Antrim at Owenbeg on Wednesday at 7:30pm and Donegal are due to travel to Cargin on Sunday, January 11, take face the Saffron County with a 1:30pm start. The rescheduled date and time for Donegal against Derry will be announced in due course.
