The recent cold snap means the McGurk Cup will look to make up some ground by deciding a number of opening games by way of coin toss.

Tyrone’s original opener against Fermanagh won’t go ahead and the subsequent flip of the coin fell the Red Hand men’s way.

They now play Donegal in the quarter-final and that game will take place at the Donegal GAA Centre in Convoy on Thursday evening (7.30pm).

Louth’s hosting of Monaghan also won’t take place and they with the Wee County coming out the right side of the coin toss, they now take on Down in the last eight.

Ulster University and Antrim’s opening clash also failed to materialise and with UU winning that coin toss, they now await the winners of Donegal and Tyrone in the last eight.

Queen’s University Belfast and Derry’s other scheduled quarter-final will go ahead later this evening, Wednesday.
