3: Another Naomh Conaill man, Shea Malone, looks next best placed to gatecrash 2026 after he delivered a ‘Player of the Match’ performance in his Donegal senior debut. The 20-year-old mightn’t quite be making up for the same kind of lost time as Kieran Gallagher is, but he looks like he wants to make an instant impression. He nailed four points in Cargin and even though McGuinness will no doubt call in a large chunk of his more experienced players, Malone might be one of those who still sees some game-time in Celtic Park during tomorrow night’s Dr McKenna Cup semi-final tangle with Derry.
