Donegal ladies name team for league opener at home to Westmeath

Evelyn McGinley starts for Donegal tomorrow in their league opener with Westmeath

James Daly has named his first Donegal team of 2026 as his side get set to open their Lidl Ladies NFL Division 2 campaign in O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny (throw-in, 2pm).

Donegal were one of three teams to earn nine points in Division 2 last year – but that tally was nine behind Cork and 12 adrift of Galway, the two promoted teams.

There’s more of an open feel to the Division 2 race this year and both Donegal and Westmeath will look to profit.

Donegal: Claire Friel; Niamh Carr, Evelyn McGinley, Sophie McFeely; Tara Hegarty, Feena McManamon, Ava Caulfield; C Brennan, Roisin Rodgers (capt.); Blaithnaid McLaughlin, Katie Dowds, Niamh Boyle; Susanne White, Mia Bennett, Ciara McGarvey.
