Joe McGill and Daniel Clarke combined for 13 points as London were just pegged back by Tipperary for a share of the spoils in the Division 4 opener in McGovern Park, Ruislip.

Former St Mary’s, Convoy man McGill hit seven points, including three frees and a two pointer, with ex-Naomh Colmcille clubman Clarke getting six scores from play as they drew 0-21 apiece with the Munster side.

The Donegal duo started for the Exiles, with Ciaran Diver (Moville) coming off the bench and Shaun Wogan (Glenswilly) an unused substitute.

McGill and Clarke stood out for the hosts, who led by five coming into the final quarter, but Tipperary hit four from outside the arc in the last 15 minutes, the first two from Sean O’Connor, who top-scored with 0-9.

Clarke hit three points towards the end of the contest to bring his side into a three-point lead, but Michael Freeney hit a two-pointer in injury time.

And while McGill converted a late free, Cian Smith kicked a late equaliser to share the points.

London’s next game in Division 4 is away to Longford on Sunday, February 1.
