Finnbarr Roarty was excellent for Donegal in Ballyshannon on Sunday
Finnbarr Roarty has been nominated for GAA Player of the Week alongside Mayo’s Ryan O'Donoghue and Galway’s Rob Finnerty.
Donegal’s Young Footballer of the Year posted three points in his side’s four-point win over Kerry in Ballyshannon at the weekend.

O’Donoghue was also to the fore for Andy Moran’s Mayo, helping himself to five points in their six-point victory over Dublin at MacHale Park. Galway seen off Armagh in Salthill and Finnerty notched 1-6 there.
Speaking after the win over the Kingdom, boss Jim McGuinness says Roarty has worked hard in close season, on his weaker foot, to develop his game even further.
“It's great that he's adding that part. That's the part that he needed to add when he came in,” said McGuinness.
“We all knew from very early on that he's a very good defender. And he's got a heart like a lion to put himself in positions where he can defend.
“He's a quick learner to be fair to him, but he's worked very hard on the possession aspect of it. And I've seen him out there even in the warm-up today. And he was taking most of his shots with his right foot.
“So he knows that he has to add that in as well and not be predictable and stuff.
“I think that's what all the good players do, don't they? They don't stand still. They're trying to add a bit of value to the areas that they feel that they can add value.”
