Michael Langan is nominated for Player of the Week

Four Donegal players have been named in the GAA.ie Team of the Week across football and hurling.

Caolan McColgan, Max Campbell and Michael Langan have been named in the Football team, with Langan up for Footballer of the Week, while Liam McKinney is in the hurling team and is nominated for Hurler of the Week.

Michael Langan stood out once again for Donegal as they blitzed Kerry in the Division 1 final in Croke Park.

The St Michael’s man helped build an early lead with five first-half points, including a pair of two-pointers. He added another score in the second half and linked brilliantly with Conor O’Donnell for the Carndonagh man’s stunning goal, which brought Donegal to life in the 3-20 to 2-10 win.

Caolan McColgan also put in a terrific shift when being tasked with marking David Clifford.

The Naomh Pádraig Uisce Chaoin man kept the Footballer of the Year to just 1-1, with the goal coming near the end when the result wasn’t in any doubt.

Max Campbell also starred on the big stage in HQ. The Naomh Conaill teenager had a brilliant match in keeping tabs on Sean O’Shea, while he also kicked three points at the other end.

It wasn’t to be as successful a weekend for the hurlers, but Liam McKinney still stood out in the Division 3 final.

Burt clubman McKinney stood up when needed and hit 1-8 for Mickey McCann’s side, with 1-3 of that coming from play.

Both Langan and McKinney can be voted for on the official GAA Instagram page.
