5: Max Campbell has given most food for thought after weekend

Neil McGee explained after that Glenties teenager Max Campbell only came into the reckoning from the off on Sunday as Finnbarr Roarty had a bout of illness picked up the evening before. Campbell was given the unenviable task of marking Sean O'Shea on the day, an assignment he carried out brilliantly. Not only that, but he also popped up with three points of his own at the opposite end of the pitch. It was quite a remarkable effort from the Naomh Conaill clubman. It’s very hard to ignore that type of contribution. If Donegal continue to look to squeeze and set the tone around the midfield battle, Campbell has certainly played himself into the reckoning after his efforts at Croke Park on Sunday. "In a game like this, you need to try things out and putting Max to centre-back was a gamble as well, but this was the day to do it,” McGuinness said on that bold selection after.
