Donegal boss Jim McGuinness and Down's Conor Laverty will lock horns later this month
6 Donegal cannot afford to lose Michael Murphy
Michael Langan might have received the Player of the Match award at the weekend but Michael Murphy’s contribution was just as crucial to this win. Yes, he might have went for an early shower for that closed fist tackle on Dylan Geaney but he escaped the ultimate sanction. And he’d go on to put in a masterful effort. It was Murphy’s direction around the middle that killed the Kerry kickout as he barked orders and broke ball. And the manner in which he intercepted that stray Kerry pass to gallop clear and hammer the net was emphatic. How he’s able to muster that type of energy at 36 years of age, he be 37 in August, is unbelievable. Donegal simply cannot afford to be without the Glenswilly man if they are to land Sam this summer.
