Daire McDaid, left, was again the man in form for Termon
Termon 1-15
Glenfin 0-8
Termon produced a dominant second-half performance in the strong wind and the driving rain to see off the challenge of Glenfin at the Burn Road on Saturday evening.
Ten points separated the sides at the finish after the reigning league champions were given an early scare after Glenfin, with Daniel Marley and Shaun Ward leading the charge, led 0-7 to 0-3 at the end of the opening quarter of an hour.
Glenfin were the better team for most of the first period, and thanks to two monster Shaun Ward two-point frees and three well taken points from midfielder Daniel Marley, they were four up at the end of the first quarter of an hour.
Jack Alcorn and John James Sweeney kicked the early Termon points as the locals struggled to get their hands on the ball against the Páirc Taoibhóige men.
And Glenfin still led by two points, 0-7 to 0-5, 25 minutes into the game, before a Kevin McGettigan long-range strike took a vicious dip and the greasy ball slipped through the hands of the advancing Glenfin goalkeeper Jason Doherty.
That was on 26 minutes, and the goal edged the locals ahead 1-5 to 0-7 for the first time in the game.

John James Sweeney, with his third point of the half, closed out the opening half scoring to send his side in two up, 1-6 to 0-7.
Termon were a much transformed team in the second half. They pushed up on Glenfin and a Daire McDaid two-point free and points from Sweeney and a palmed effort from Bobby McGettigan, which could easily have been a goal, extended the Termon lead out to six points, 1-10 to 0-7.
Odhran McGlynn scored Glenfin’s only point in the second half before Ciaran Cassidy (2), Jack Alcorn, and Daire McDaid added late points for the locals to seal a comfortable win in the end.
That’s two straight wins for the first time Division One champions following last weekend's opening round win over Gaoth Dobhair, in Magheragallon.
It is a first defeat for Glenfin after last weekend's narrow home win over St. Michael's.
