Roscommon referee Paddy Neilan will take change of Donegal’s Ulster SFC opener with Down in Letterkenny on Sunday. 

The Saint Faithleach's clubman Neilan had had many experiences in taking charge of the big occasions.

He was the whistler for the 2022 All-Ireland semi-final between Dublin and Kerry, when the Hawk-Eye system stopped working.as well as the 2025 All-Ireland Club Championship final.

He was also the man in the middle for the 2025 Connacht final between Mayo and Galway. 

From a Donegal perspective, he was on the whistle for last season’s All-Ireland quarter-final win over Monaghan at Croke Park. 

Neilan was in charge of Donegal's Super 8s meeting with Kerry in Headquarters in 2019, while he also watched over the Division 1 match against Dublin in MacCumhaill Park in early 2025 as well as the 2025 Connacht final.

Throw-in for the game at O’Donnell Park at the weekend is 3pm and will be broadcast live on BBC 2 NI.
