Gaeil Fhánada celebrate their victory at the All-Ireland Comortas Peile Na Gaeltachta Junior championships last June
Gaeil Fhánada have appointed Gerard Patrick Shiels as their new senior manager.
The Postsalon-based club reached the semi-finals of the Donegal IFC last season, having also became All-Ireland Comortas Peile Na Gaeltachta Junior champions last year. Aidan McAteer stepped aside following the conclusion of the 2022 campaign. They will play in Division 2 of the All-County Football League this coming season.
“Gerard Patrick Shiels has recently been appointed as the new manager of the Gaeil Fhánada senior team for 2023,” read a club statement.
“Gerard Patrick, who hails from Kerrykeel is a long time club member, and has coached and managed numerous underage teams through the years, and has also fulfilled administrative roles within the club. He takes over the reins from fellow Kerrykeel man, Aidan McAteer who spent six years in the position.
“Guímid gach rath ar Gerard Patrick, a fhoireann bainistíochta agus ar an fhoireann shinsireach i rith na bliana!”
