Naomh Muire edge out Naomh Columba for two valuable league points

Naomh Columba fell to a second defeat in a week with this one point loss at the Banks.

The home side were in need of the points to stave off a battle for relegation while Naomh Columba were hoping to bounce back after the lost out in the battle at the top with Glenswilly last week at home.

Kevin McNern got the visitors of to a good start with a goal after two minutes as Naomh Columba were 1-2 to  0-1 up but a penalty from Eoin Martin had Naomh Muire back on track.

The home side went ahead on 15 minutes with a goal from half-back, Fintan Doherty, but before half-time the visitors got their noses back in front with a goal from Philip Doherty.

Half-time: Naomh Muire 2-4, Naomh Colulmba 2-5.

Naomh Columba went three up when Aaron Doherty converted a penalty but the home side kept in touch with points from Eoin Martin and Daniel Devlin.

Then Fintan Doherty got his second goal to edge Naomh Muire ahead once more and despite a late Eric Carr goal, the home side held on for a very valuable two league points.
