Donegal’s Aussie Rules contingent of Niamh McLaughlin, Yvonne Bonner and Tanya Kennedy are gearing up for the start of the AFLW season Down Under this coming weekend.
Glenfin’s Bonner is no stranger to the game having previously starred at Greater Western Sydney Giants back in 2019 and 2020.
Her new club, The Adelaide Crows, begin their campaign this Saturday with a home encounter against city rivals Port Adelaide.
Another player who is more than familiar with the oval ball game is Robert Emmets’ Tanya Kennedy. With a VFL career already under her belt, she’s transitioned well at the Sydney Crows in pre-season.
They also start their league season with a derby clash, on Sunday, away to West Greater Western Sydney Giants.
Meanwhile, Donegal captain and current Player of the Year Niamh McLaughlin, in her rookie campaign with the Gold Coast Suns, is looking forward to an away clash at Carlton, in Melbourne, on Saturday.
