A proposed suspension for former Termon manager Trevor Alcorn has been reduced following a hearing.
A 48-week ban was initially proposed for Trevor Alcorn by Donegal GAA’s Competitions Controls Committee (CCC).
The proposed suspension was handed down as a result of a review of an incident at an All-County Football League Division 2 game involving Termon and Red Hughs at the Burn Road.
Video footage and the match report of referee Anthony McCallig were consulted by the CCC.
The 48-week penalty was subsequently proposed and Donegal Live understands that the Donegal Hearings Committee has opted to reduce the suspension.
Following a hearing on August 31, the Donegal Hearings Committee has reduced the proposed suspension to one of 12 weeks.
A two-match suspension in the 2024 All-County Football league has also been included in the decision of the Hearings Committee.
The decision, according to the notification of the result of the hearing, was taken pursuant to Donegal bye law 3.4 and Rules 3.20 IV A, 7.2 (c) IVa (ii), Rule 7.2 C Iva (1) of the official guide.
The decision can be appealed by the relevant parties.
In August, Termon appointed Caolan McDaid as their new senior men’s football team manager.
