Niamh McLaughlin who kicked two goals for Gold Coast Suns.
It was a good Saturday morning’s footy for two of Donegal AFLW stars as Niamh McLaughlin and Tanya Kennedy both helped their teams pick up the win.
Niamh McLaughlin and her Gold Coast Suns teammates surged late at the Alberton Oval to grab a draw at Port Adelaide. The Moville dynamo kicked two goals in another fine display.
Over at Sydney, Robert Emmets’ Tanya Kennedy and the Swans hammered Western Bulldogs 96-39.
Meanwhile, Yvonne Bonner - currently sidelined with a knee complaint - watched on as the Adelaide Crows were defeated 42-39 by Brisbane in what was the Crows’ first loss of the season.
Ahead of Round 9, Bonner and the Crows are joint top with Melbourne in the standings on 28 points. McLaughlin and the Suns are back in sixth on 18 points while Kennedy and the Swans are in eleventh spot on 16 points.
