Sydney Swans star Tanya Kennedy.
Tanya Kennedy and her Sydney Swans teammates have given their Grand finals hopes a huge boost after running away to a 19-point triumph over Collingwood on Sunday morning.
Chloe Molloy returned to haunt her former side at Henson Park with a stunning display against her former teammates and popped up to boot her third goal and the sealer with two minutes remaining in the contest.
Young gun Sofia Hurley was just as pivotal with two goals in the final term as the Swans built on a two-point advantage at the last change to clinch the win.
Robert Emmets clubwoman Kennedy was assigned to tag Pies captain and dangerwoman Brianna Davey doing a good enough job to be selected in the Swans’ ‘Best’ category after.
Sydney - who have slipped into that coveted eighth spot - now travel to Fremantle for the last match of the AFLW home and away season next Sunday.
All three Donegal girls, Kennedy, Niamh McLaughlin and Yvonne Bonner, are now in top-eight Grand final positions ahead of the final round of AFLW games with the Gold Coast Suns sitting sixth in the standings and the Crows, second.
McLaughlin and the Suns enjoyed a 48-17 win over Greater Western Sydney Giants. Bonner again sat out the Crows' 41-38 win over North Melbourne but should be in line for a return next weekend.
