Dungloe clinch place in last eight of U-21 B championship with win over Glenfin

Dungloe U-21s, who defeated Glenfin.

Dungloe sealed their place in the quarter-finals of the U-21B championship with a big win over Glenfin in Pairc Taobhoige on Saturday afternoon.

In what was a top-of-the-group clash, Daire Gallagher and Luke Clerkin scored the goals for the Robert Wherley-managed side. 

Gallagher and senior teammate Ryan Brennan chipped in with six points each while Aaron Ward, Oran Gallagher and Jordan Saville were also among the Dungloe scorers. 

Dungloe led 2-7 to 0-6 at half-time and kicked on in the second half as they outscored the locals 0-10 to 1-5.

County senior Luke McGlynn carried the main scoring threat for the locals and ended the game with a personal tally of five points. 

Wing forward Tommy McNulty scored the Glenfin goal with Daniel Marley, Jack Long, Oisin McGlynn, Ross Bradley and Matthew Wotton also among the Glenfin scores. 

Dungloe finished on top of Group D with five points from their three games and qualified for the last eight. Glenfin finished in second place on four points and qualified for the preliminary quarter-final playoff. 

Dungloe scorers: Daire Gallagher 1-6,2f, Ryan Brennan 0-6, Luke Clerkin 1-0, Aaron Ward 0-2, Oran Gallagher 0-2, Jordan Saville 0-1.

Glenfin scorers: Luke McGlynn 0-5,3f, Tommy McNulty 1-0, Daniel Marley 0-2,2f, Jack Long, Oisin McGlynn, Ross Bradley, Matthew Wotton  0-1 each.
