Donegal minor manager Declan McDermott
As the commencement of the Ulster championship campaign draws near, Donegal minor Manager, Declan McDermott, has officially announced his squad for the upcoming 2024 season.
Donegal achieved notable success last August by securing the ZucCar All-Ireland Minor 'C' Football Championship title with an impressive 1-14 to 1-9 triumph over Waterford in Kinnegad.
The decisive victory was marked by a late goal from Abbie McGranaghan, securing the win for Donegal, who had established a three-point lead at half-time and maintained dominance in possession during the second half.
This achievement marked only the second All-Ireland Minor title for the county, the previous one being in 2009 when they won the 'A' Championship.
For the upcoming season, McDermott's squad will see the return of 10 members from the starting 15 that played a pivotal role in securing the All-Ireland title last season. These returning players and new members to the panel aim to replicate a similar sort of success and contribute to the team's aspirations for the current season.
The minor team will compete in Tier 1 of the Ulster Championship this year with their opening match at home to Monaghan on February 17.
