Former Glenswilly manager Pauric Bonner and his family
The Killybegs senior team has announced the appointment of Pauric Bonner, the former manager of Glenswilly, to lead their team for the 2024 season.
Bonner stepped down from his managerial role at Glenswilly at the conclusion of the previous year, completing a successful three-season stint with the club.
Upon his departure, Glenswilly conveyed their appreciation to the outgoing management team, which included Bonner, Tarlach Bonner, Ciaran Sharkey, and others, who had served the club until November of last year.
Hailing from Dungloe, Bonner assumed the managerial position at Glenswilly in late 2020. Despite their relegation from Division 1 of the All-County Football League in 2022, Glenswilly showcased an impressive performance, securing victory in Division 2 last season.
Over the past two seasons, Glenswilly reached the quarter-finals of the Donegal SFC, facing defeats to Naomh Conaill and MacCumhaill’s in consecutive years.
Meanwhile, Killybegs concluded the 2023 senior championship in the bottom four but managed to retain their senior championship status for the upcoming season by defeating St Nauls in a relegation semi-final play-off.
Meanwhile, Gary McDaid has taken over the reins at Glenswilly, succeeding Bonner in guiding the team forward.
