Glenswilly 0-4
Kilcar 2-14
Mark Sweeney and Ryan O’Donnell scored the goals and Matthew McClean kicked seven points as Kilcar put Glenswilly to the sword on Saturday night.
Stung from last weekend’s home defeat to Sean MacCumhaills in Towney, Michael Hegarty’s men showed no mercy. They played with the stiff breeze in their backs in the first half and they led 1-5 to 0-2 at half-time.
Wing forward McClean was impeccable from placed balls and kicked all of five of Kilcar’s first-half points, four of them from frees.
McClean was also buzzing from general play and it was his pace and pinpoint pass that set up Mark Sweeney for the Kilcar goal. That was six minutes in, which opened up 1-1 to 0-0 for the winners.
Eoghan Scott and Kealan Dunleavy were the pick of the Glenswilly players over the 60-plus minutes with Scott prodding and probing at every opportunity from centre half forward.
Shane McDevitt on eight minutes and Dunleavy on 26 minutes kicked the Glenswilly first-half points.
With the ageless Ciaran McGinley stepping up in the second half Kilcar maintained their dominance and outscored the locals by 1- 8 to 0-2.
Daithi Gildea from a free and Gary Copper McFadden from play scored the second half Glenswilly points.
Ryan O’Donnell hit the Kilcar goal while McClean, Gary Molloy. Eoin Cormack, Mark Sweeney, Ben Rafferty, Ryan and Conor O’Donnell kicked points for a rampant Kilcar.
