Here are fourteen moments to celebrate the return of the man who wore number 14 throughout his career and is widely regarded as Donegal's greatest player

2007: Debut and first start

It was January 7, 2007, when the Glenswilly man made his first appearance for the Donegal senior team when he was introduced by then manager Brian McIver on the 50th minute for Cloughaneely’s Denis Boyle at corner-forward against UUJ in the opening round of the McKenna Cup.

Murphy would also score his first point from a free, in a career that totaled 177 appearances for the county, in what was a 1-6 to 1-4 win against the Ulster University in Ballybofey.

The three-time All-Star winner would follow this performance up with his first start a week later when he was positioned at number 12 in what was a one-point victory for Donegal against Antrim in Casement.
