The Kilcar GAA club, who are celebrating their centenary year in 2024, marked one of the big milestones of the club on Saturday, November 9th 2024. That was the exact date in 1924 when Kilcar played their first ever match in Towney with Ballyshannon the visitors.
On Saturday last the two clubs met again in Towney, this time at U-16 level, to mark the centenary at 3 p.m. Later Mass was celebrated in memory of those who were involved in setting up the club, the players, officers and supporters down through the years. Afterwards refreshments were served in Joe Joe's Lounge in the village.
