Glenfin clinch home U-21 B quarter-final place with win over Naomh Columba

Glenfin’s goals proved the difference in this keenly contested U-21B championship third-round tie in Pairc Na Taoibhoige on Sunday afternoon. 

Daniel Marley, Odhran O’Connor, Daire Quigley and Shaun Ward scored the goals for the three-pointers in the four-point victory that clinched second place in the U-21B league table

The win also ensured that Glenfin will have a home quarter-final next weekend against Burt while Naomh Columba will go away to Carndonagh in the last eight. 

Marley, who also had a second-half penalty saved by Shane Ellis in the Naomh Columba goals, along with O’Connor, Quigley, Tommy McNulty and Gavin McCormick was also among the Glenfin point scorers.

Darragh Cunningham scored the two Naomh Columba goals and Shane Callaghan posted six points while Pauric Hegarty also chipped in with an over for the men from Pairc Na nGaeil.

Naomh Columba scorers: Shane Callaghan 0-6,3f, Darragh Cunningham 2-0, Pauric Hegarty 0-1.
