Donegal minor manager Declan McDermott
After an extended development period, the Donegal Ladies Minor Team has finalised its panel for the 2025 season.
Over the past weeks, the players displayed remarkable skill, dedication, and enthusiasm, making the selection process exceptionally challenging for the coaching team.
Declan McDermott, the team’s minor manager, explained that the selection wasn’t solely based on the development sessions but also considered performances during the minor and senior club championships. This comprehensive evaluation ensured that the final panel of 30 players represents the best talent available in Donegal.
While the management could only take 30 players forward, they expressed their commitment to fostering talent at all levels. For those who narrowly missed out, plans are underway to establish a U-17 Player Development Programme (PDP) in 2025, subject to the availability of resources and coaches.
The 2025 minor team’s first training session will take place at Robert Emmets GAA pitch in Castlefin on Saturday, December 21, starting at 10am.
Further training schedules and plans for the new year will be communicated after Christmas.
The management team, led by Declan McDermott, expressed their gratitude to all participants and their families for their dedication and support throughout the process.
