Framed Donegal jerseys autographed by those who made it possible from the years of their only two All-Ireland successes will go under the hammer for charity at St Eunan’s GAA Dinner Dance.

The Letterkenny club are celebrating the year in which they sealed a record 16th Donegal SFC title, having defeated Dungloe in the final in October.

The Dr Maguire Cup will be in attendance at the Mount Errigal Hotel on Saturday, December 28, for what promises to be a night of celebration and entertainment.

On the night, there will be an auction for a replica of the 1992 All-Ireland winning jersey, recalling when Brian McEniff’s team beat Dublin to take Sam to the Hills for the first time.

Also, Rory Kavanagh has kindly donated his match-worn jersey from the 2012 Ulster final success over Down for auction. The St Eunan’s midfielder helped the side managed by Jim McGuinness go on to win Sam Maguire for only the second time when they overcame Mayo at Croke Park.

Both jerseys have been framed with accompanying photographs and signed by players from the winning panels, with the 1992 jersey sponsored by 3D Personnel and the 2012 jersey sponsored by The Swilly Inn.

Monies raised will be in aid of the Greg Fitzgerald recovery fund. Letterkenny native Greg suffered a stroke in March and is continuing his recovery at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dún Laoghaire.

The auction gives those in attendance on the night an opportunity to bid on the Donegal GAA memorabilia that celebrate their two most memorable seasons.

Alternatively, for those unable to attend, bids can be made in advance of the auction, by call, text message or Whatsapp to either Barry Kavanagh (087-7644676), Rory Kavanagh (086-3067824) or Alma Kavanagh (087-6952551). The deadline for text bids is 6pm on Saturday, December 28.

Those who wish not to participate in the auction and would prefer to donate to the charity can do so on ‘Greg Fitzgerald's Fundraiser’ on iDonate.
