Club delegates pictured in Pettigo last month
Killybegs GAA has decided to retract their appeal to the Ulster Hearings Committee concerning the voting procedures for officers at last month’s county convention.
An exclusive at the time which was revealed by DonegalLive reported that the club’s concerns centred on the voting process itself and how motions were handled during the event.
Killybegs had submitted seven of the 11 motions presented at Pettigo, though three of these were withdrawn by the club’s representatives at the Termon Centre. Of the remaining motions, one was passed, while the other three were rejected.
Efforts to obtain a comment from Killybegs GAA at the time were unsuccessful. However, Donegal chairperson Mary Coughlan did confirm that the club had contacted Ulster and had been asked to provide clarification on the issue at the start of the New Year.
The Ulster committee had been in communication with Donegal GAA regarding the voting procedures used in Pettigo on December 13, with a hearing initially planned for later this month.
The county board has now confirmed that Killybegs GAA has withdrawn their request, bringing the matter to a close.
