Donegal player Dáire Ó Baoill
Donegal player Dáire Ó Baoill has been nominated for the GAA.ie Player of the Week following his standout performance last Saturday following Donegal’s impressive 0-20 to 0-16 point win over Dublin.
Jim McGuinness’s side are now off and running following their first-round victory over Dessie Farrell’s Dubs, and it was Ó Baoill, more than anyone else on the night, who gave the county the boost they needed to kick off their 2025 season, with the Gaoth Dobhair native putting in a standout Player of the Match performance, against the team from the capital.

The Gaoth Dobhair clubman kicked some stunning first-half scores in MacCumhaill Park, including two crucial two-pointers to see off Dublin as the Ulster champions now turn their attention this weekend to Kerry in Killarney.
Donegal dominated the opening 35 minutes but the five point margin at the break (0-11 to 0-6) didn't reflect their dominance. The main reason for that was the shooting of the home team who racked up eight wides.
But Ó Baoill led the way as Donegal saw their way to victory with the Gaoth Dobhair man accounting for six points on the night.
The Donegal player is nominated alongside Conor McCarthy of Monaghan and Shane Walsh of Galway.
