The Donegal U-16 ladies will open for their senior counterparts in an LGFA doubleheader in MacCumhaill Park this Sunday.

Dessie McNamara’s girls are up against Armagh in Round 2 of their Group Championship campaign having drawn away to Derry in Owenbeg last weekend.

Following that, James Daly’s senior team host Galway in Round 5 of the Lidl Ladies National Football League Division 2.

Donegal are currently third in the standings there having drawn three and won one of their four outings so far.

They split the spoils first day out away to Clare before following that up with another draw away to Westmeath.

In their first home encounter a fortnight ago against Monaghan in Lifford, Donegal looked to be on their way to defeat late on.

But skipper Roisin Rodgers stepped up in the dying seconds to goal and secure a 1-7 to 0-8 victory.

Last time out, it was another snatch and grab as Jodie McFadden’s late spot kick salvaged another draw in Roscommon.

The U-16 contest throws in at midday while the senior encounter has a 2pm start.
