Conor McDonnell, a native of Bundoran, has been elected as the next President of GAA Handball Ireland.
McDonnell, a retired Garda living in Monaghan, won a vote at Saturday’s AGM.
He defeated Kilkenny’s Martin Lalor in a vote with McDonnell taking 56 per cent of the votes and he will assume the role in 2023.
McDonnell’s late parents owned a pharmacy in Bundoran in his youth.
He was awarded a Special Recognition for Handball Award at the 2021 Ulster President's Awards last year.
He is the current Ulster Handball Chairperson and is still actively playing the game.
