There has been much praise for the  National Health Service in the North in the treatment of a Coláiste na Carraige player in the Faul Cup final which took place at the Bawnacre Centre, Irvinestown on Monday last.

The services were needed when a Carrick player suffered a head injury just before half-time. He was treated on the field and then airlifted to hospital. He is recovering at present. All involved were high in their praise with the care and attention afforded the player and his family by both the medical services and the Ulster GAA Colleges committee.

Carrick were playing Ballybay CC, Monaghan in the final and when the game was abandoned the Monaghan side were leading 1-6 to 1-4. No arrangements have been made for the refixture as yet. The All-Ireland semi-final, scheduled for Saturday next, has been put back a week and it is possible that the refixture could take place early next week. But at present the main focus of Coláiste na Carraige is for the player to return to full health.
