Downings were one-point winners at Moyle View
Lorcan Connor was the toast of Downings on Sunday evening as he hit a late winning point against Miilford in Moyle View Park in a highly entertaining and close Division 2 encounter.
Milford 1-11
Downings 0-15
The former county panellist and underage star may have stolen the limelight at the finish. But it was the Downings, number 11 Johnny McGroddy who was the star of the show and man of the match.
The county U20 had his scoring boots on as he kicked ten points with nine of them from frees in an exhibition of score taking.
This was a close encounter all the way and though Dowings with McGroddy in sublime form dominated most of the half. It was the locals who were in front by the minimum at half-time thanks to a superb goal tucked away by Shane Black.
