The GAA have confirmed the match officials for this weekend’s round two qualifiers.

Kildare referee Brendan Cawley has been appointed to take charge of Sunday’s showdown between Donegal and Armagh in Clones.

Could that be a good omen for Donegal? Cawley has taken charge of Donegal just once before.

Cawley was the man in the middle when Donegal defeated Tyrone 2-12 to 0-10 in the Allianz League at Sean MacCumhaill Park in February.

Goals by Conor O’Donnell and Jeaic Mac Ceallabhuí gave Donegal the win that night.

This weekend, Donegal and Armagh meet for the third time in recent months having clashed in a tempestuous League fixture in April and an Ulster SFC quarter-final a month later.
