Donegal bowed out of the All-Ireland SFC after being crushed 3-17 to 0-16 in Clones in Sunday’s round 2 qualifier.

Rory Grugan, Rian O’Neill and Stephen Sheridan netted the goals as the Orchard steamrolled into the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

Donegal goalkeeper Shaun Patton was black carded late in the first half in an incident that resulted in O’Neill tucking a penalty past stand-in ‘keeper Caolan McGonagle.

For Donegal supporters, it was a last outing of 2022 as the Championship hopes faded into dust at St Tiernach’s Park.
