County Council issues notice of road closure due to Glenties Harvest Fair

Road users are to be advised that those travelling from the Frosses and Donegal Town direction may be diverted due to bridge replacement works

Glenties Harvest Fair issues warning to south Donegal attendees of road closure

The route is the R262-5 Frosses Glenties Road at Meentanakill Road and it will be fully closed until September 19, with local access only, then it will be partially closed for the remaining five days

Glenties Harvest Fair have issued a road closure warning to those from south Donegal who are travelling to the festival.

Road users are to be advised that those travelling from the Frosses and Donegal Town direction may be diverted due to bridge replacement works. The Binban road will be closed from today for approximately two weeks.

The route is the R262-5 Frosses Glenties Road at Meentanakill Road and it will be fully closed until September 19, with local access only. On Monday, September 22, until Friday, September 26, the road will be partially closed from 8am to 6pm daily. 

The diversion routes are as follows: Cars/light traffic will be sent via Ardaghey / Ardara. Heavy goods vehicles will be diverted via N56 Five Points.

Road users are advised to allow extra time. The essential works are being carried out by Source Civil on behalf of Donegal County Council.
