Signs will be established to prevent dogs from fouling on beaches.

Cathaoirleach of Glenties, MD, Councillor Michael McClafferty, has described the fouling as a “big problem”, especially on Dufanaghy beach, Falcarragh beach and Portnablagh Pier.

It was confirmed at the meeting that signs will be established to prevent dog fouling from being left on the beach. The lack of bins to dispose of the litter was flagged as “there is nowhere to get rid of the litter, even if you take a dog bag with you. We need bins for dog waste.”

The matter will now be referred to the Donegal County Council Litter Warden.
