Dogs were found locked in rusty cages stacked one on top of the other Photos: An Garda Síochána Donegal
Gardaí have seized 14 dogs during the search of a property in Donegal.
The action was taken after gardaí from Glenties garda station found the animals in alarming conditions during a search of a property under the Animal Health and Welfare Act on Friday.
Some of the dogs were found locked in rusty cages stacked one on top of the other, which appear to contain animal waste.
Gardaí say they are liaising with the ISPCA in relation to the matter and investigations are ongoing.
“All of the dogs are currently receiving necessary veterinary attention and they will then be handed over to the care of the ISPCA,” gardaí said.
