The landing at Carrickfinn Airport which was previously voted the most scenic in the world
The Donegal-Dublin midday flight service will be reinstated and the aircraft will be held at Carrickfinn Airport overnight.
The Minister for Finance, Simon Harris, has confirmed in the Dáil Chamber that the Minister for Transport, Darragh O’Brien, will announce the full reinstatement of both services, with restoration expected within weeks rather than months.
“I have been engaging closely with Minister O’Brien since I first became aware of the proposed timetable changes on 13 January,” Pat the Cope Gallagher said. “The Minister remained in regular contact with me throughout this process, and I welcome his commitment to restore the timetable that has served the people of Donegal well for decades.”
Donegal Cancer Flights & Services have campaigned tirelessly to restore the flight service, engaging with the Minister for Transport and securing over 20,000 signatures in support.
