Uisce Eireann repairing a road in Moville
Road resurfacing works that have been taking place in Moville are part of ongoing “permanent reinstatement works”, Uisce Eireann has said.
The State utility says the works are ongoing at locations across Inishowen where there have been frequent bursts and where the roadway has been dug up a number of times as a result.
In Moville, workmen have been working to repair the busy Terryrone Road in Glencrow, which leads up to the Inishowen Co-op and the Moville Industrial estate, as well as a number of local housing developments.
The Glencrow area has been beset by multiple water bursts affecting scores of homes and businesses over the past few years, and it’s hoped that Uisce Eireann now has a firm fix on the problem.
The road-smoothing operation follows calls from a number of local County Councillors, including Martin Farren, for Uisce Eireann to leave the road “back in good condition” after multiple digs to resolve water bursts.
An Uisce Eireann spokesperson explained: “A contractor working on behalf of Uisce Éireann is completing routine permanent reinstatement works following burst repairs at various locations.”

“These works are on behalf of Uisce Éireann Operations and will be ongoing at various locations in the Inishowen area over the coming weeks and months.”
