Donegal goalkeeper and serving Inishowen Garda Shaun Patton has visited the Cashel Na Cor resource centre in Buncrana, where he proudly displayed the Anglo-Celt Cup.

The 29-year-old was given a hero’s welcome at the disability and learning facility on Tuesday June 10, with delighted residents posing for photos with the Ulster Senior Football Championship trophy.

Patton is expected to be back between the posts following injury this Sunday evening, June 15, when Donegal face Mayo in their first potential do-or-die match of the All-Ireland series so far.

Garda Patton, who has been based in Inishowen for a number of years, was thrilled to receive such a warm welcome at Cashel Na Cor and countless well wishes for the weekend match, which Donegal need to win to get their All-Ireland bid firmly back on track.

With Garda Patton in nets, Donegal will be hoping to ‘arrest’ the Mayo attack and ‘book’ a place in the last eight!

Everyone at Cashel Na Cor wishes him and the team every success for Sunday.
