Miss Ireland Caoimhe Kenny with her delighted dad Stephen.
A former Inishowen schoolgirl has been crowned Miss Ireland 2025, sparking celebrations at her alma mater.
Caoimhe Kenny, who was announced as the winner at a glitzy ceremony in Meath on Saturday night, was a pupil at Scoil Mhuire in Buncrana.
The 24-year-old stunner is the daughter of ex-Ireland and Derry City manager Stephen Kenny.
The Kenny family lived in Fahan for several years, during which time dad Stephen (53) managed the Brandywell club twice in separate spells either side of his time at Dunfermline in Scotland.
Incredibly, Caoimhe is the second Miss Ireland in recent years to have strong Inishowen connections, with Buncrana model Lauren McDonough winning the coveted title in 2017, while Buncrana’s Grainne Gallanagh won the Miss Universe Ireland crown in 2018.
A message from Scoil Mhuire has congratulated Caoimhe on her success.
“Congratulations and well done to our former pupil Caoimhe Kenny, who has been crowned Miss Ireland 2025. Wishing you all the very best in the year ahead,” a school spokesperson said.
The win earns Caoimhe a lucrative modelling contract and a host of prizes, while she now goes forward to represent Ireland on the international stage at the Miss World Festival next year.
