Reverend Canon David Skuce
The Diocese of Derry and Raphoe has installed Reverend Canon David Skuce as Prebendary of Clondehorkey at a ceremony in St Eunan’s Cathedral in Raphoe on June 24.
The appointment of Rev Canon Skuce, who replaces the retired Reverend Canon David Crooks, means that the full complement of Canons in the Cathedral Chapter of St Eunan has been restored.
Rev Canon Skuce was ordained in Glendermott Parish in the Derry Diocese. After three years, he was then appointed as Rector of Drumholm, Kilbarron, and Rossnowlagh Group of Parishes in the Raphoe Diocese.

He has also served as Rector in the parishes of Urney, Sion Mills, Maguiresbridge, Derrybrusk, Inishmacsaint, and his most recent position in Dunfanaghy, where he was appointed as Rector in 2019.
Rev Dr Ian Ellis gave a sermon at the service praising Rev Canon Skuce. He said: “We can see the diversity of the parishes in which he has ministered. It has been a long and dedicated term of service to the Church of Ireland, and within the various dioceses, too, he has made a unique contribution to diocesan life, taking part in many committees and serving as rural dean, for example.
“So, this installation as Canon of Raphoe, is a well-deserved acknowledgement of David’s faithful ministry to parishes and dioceses in the Church of Ireland.”
