The Lough Swilly RNLI helped with two rescue efforts in recent days.
Members of the Lough Swilly RNLI were called to assist in two rescue operations in recent days.
On the afternoon of Sunday, June 29, Buncrana-based volunteers were tasked by the Malin Head Coast Guard to aid two teenage paddleboarders, who had gotten into difficulty just off Lisfannon Beach.
The Atlantic 85 Inshore Lifeboat was quickly launched but was stood down as both teenagers made it safely to shore. The RNLI crew then returned to Ned's Point, refuelled and made ready for service.
Meanwhile, four days earlier, at 12.19pm on Wednesday, June 25, the Lough Swilly RNLI was tasked by the Malin Head Coast Guard to assist a lone fisherman whose small craft had developed engine trouble.
The Atlantic 85 Inshore Lifeboat was quickly launched and was on scene within minutes. The crew then established a tow and took the boat to the safety of Rathmullan Pier.

The Lough Swilly RNLI thanked the member of the public who quickly raised the alarm with the Coast Guard in the paddleboard incident.
They have advised: “Remember if you're in difficulty in or on the water or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.”
