Planning sought for changes to major Donegal Town residential development

Sayvale 26 Ltd have applied for alterations to Donegal Town development

Donegal County Council has received a planning application to alter plans to a major housing development in Donegal Town.

Dublin-based Sayvale 26 Ltd submitted the application for the planned development between the Mill Race Crescent and Railway Park housing estates.

The submitted application is to alter/modify the existing permitted three-storey building with eight residential units, to have instead the construction of a two-storey apartment block, with four two-bedroom ground floor apartments, and four two-bedroom first floor apartments, all with their own door access at the ground floor level, along with reconfiguration of the associated car parking.

Donegal County Council had originally granted planning permission for the site in September 2020, allowing for 56 residential units, comprising varying numbers of dwellings, as well as terraced housing and duplex apartments.

In February 2022, Donegal County Council then granted permission for significant alterations to the planned developments, including a change of housing types and a change from housing to apartments.

A decision due date was set by Donegal County Council for the renewed, altered application for December 1.
