Planned playing pitch ‘final piece of development’ for Termon GAA

Termon GAA seek permission to build new playing pitch at their club base

Termon GAA Club hope that their planning application for a new playing pitch at their Burn Road home is the “final piece of development” to provide facilities for its members.

The club are seeking planning from Donegal County Council to construct a new playing field, as well as providing all fencing, floodlighting, ballstops, dugouts and a scoreboard, along with all associated site development works.

Kieran Gallagher, on behalf of Termon GAA, said: “The club has recently completed the development of a new clubhouse, and their final piece of required infrastructure is a new playing pitch, which will allow for all of their members to be accommodated with playing facilities when required.

“This pitch will have floodlights, which will allow training to take place at the club during the winter months and will allow for the preservation of their main pitches for matches”

Concluding his comments to Donegal County Council, Gallagher stated: “This proposed development is the final piece of development which Terman GAA are seeking to put in place to provide facilities for the playing members in both football and hurling within their catchment area, and I hope that the Planning Authority are in a position to support this application.”

A decision due date has been set by Donegal County Council for December 16.

Termon GAA carry a lot of successful recent history. Their ladies' team won the All-Ireland Football Championship in 2014, along with two Ulster titles and nine Donegal titles in the last 16 years.

Their men’s team won this season’s Division 1 title, along with the 2024 Donegal Intermediate Football Championship.
