Comments made about taxi services in Bundoran
Bundoran-based Cllr Michael McMahon warned Donegal Municipal District Council that a reduced taxi service in Bundoran is “affecting tourism.”
Speaking at December’s Donegal Municipal District meeting, Cllr McMahon asked the Council Executive if they could “write to the regulator of the taxi services.”
He said: “We have a problem with a taxi service. When drivers are retiring, they are not being replaced. That is a serious problem for Bundoran.
“Who is the regulator and what can be done about it?

“I know it is happening all over the country, that the taxi service is reduced, but when it comes to 11pm or 11.30pm, when we finish up with dances and clubs, nobody can get people home, and it is affecting tourism.”
Area Manager for Housing & Corporate Services, Pauric Sheerin, responded: “I would say it refers to all towns at this time.
“We will certainly do some research into that, and we can certainly convey to your sentiments today.”
