Cappry motorist fined €350 in court for driving at 59kph in 50kph zone

Ballyshannon Courthouse was location for Donegal District Court hearing

A Cappry motorist has been fined €350 by Judge Éiteáin Cunningham at Donegal District Court for speeding.

Nuala Diver, Finn Farm Lane, Cappry, Ballybofey, was convicted and fined after the court heard she had been driving at 59kph in a 50kph zone on October 7, 2024, at Upper Main Street, Donegal Town, Donegal. Ms Diver did not attend the court hearing at Ballyshannon Courthouse, and Judge Cunningham, in the circumstances, found the facts proven.

Ms Diver was convicted of being contrary to Section 47 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 (as inserted by Section 11 of the Road Traffic Act 2004) and Section 102 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 (as amended by Section 18 of the Road Traffic Act 2006).

Judge Cunningham permitted Ms Diver five months to pay the €350 fine.
