Fintra National School
A South Donegal National School provided positive news regarding the school’s future, following concerns of a potential closure of the school based near Killybegs.
Fintra National School released an online statement detailing news of a “successful Open Day” that was held on January 25, a few weeks after a public meeting was held discussing the school’s future.
The public meeting was held on January 12 and was attended by around 80 members of the local community. Afterwards, the Acting Principal of the school, Aisling Meehan, told Donegal Live that people would be “saddened” should the school be forced to close due to low pupil numbers.
An online statement from the Fintra National School Board of Management read: “A successful Open Day was held on Sunday, January 25, which was well attended.
“Arising from the public meeting, a survey of prospective children was conducted.
