Gardaí investigating death of man in Castlegal crash

Gardaí are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N15 Sligo/ Bundoran Rd yesterday.

A car collided with a ditch at Castlegal, Cliffoney, Co. Sligo, at around 3pm, resulting in the death of the 69 year old male driver who was the only occupant of the vehicle.

The remains were removed to Sligo University Hospital where a Post Mortem examination will take place.

A technical and forensic examination of the scene has been completed by Garda forensic collision investigators and the road has since been reopened to traffic.
